That's all it takes to make our delicious Harpoon Cold Brew.
But the perfection lies deep in the details of what we make.
Harpoon Cold Brew is brewed with cold filtered water over 18 hours to extract only the light and delicate flavours of the coffee, and avoiding the bitterness and acids that come out with a hot extraction.
As a result Harpoon Cold Brew is a long and refreshing way to drink coffee. Clean and smooth, with no sugar or anything artificial.
As dedicated cold brew makers, it took a bit of time finding the best beans to use.
For our 330ml and 2L goons of Ready to Drink Cold Brew we wanted a clean, chocolaty flavour that could use the addition of milk, but still be moorish when drunk straight. So we use a blend of Brazil Cerrado and Honduras La Flor origins. These coffees are roasted individually to a medium degree (just before the second crack).
For our 375ml Concentrate we wanted an intensity to match espresso. This product is also used in bars around the country so we needed something that could shine through other ingredients. For this, we use a blend of three Fair Trade Organic Coffees: Colombian, Sumatran and Papua New Guinean beans. These are roasted slightly darker than our ready to drink cold brew (dropped at second crack) as a result the concentrate is much more punchy and milk or water can be added to it or it can be used in smoothies or cocktails.
